Reasons why you need to Choose Gas as your Strand in SHS

What is GAS strand For?

The General Academic Strand is for students who have not yet determined which college courses they will take. It’s likely that the learner will be assigned bridge courses in order to assess his or her readiness for the field of study that he or she will pursue in the future. Students in the General Academic Strand will have the option of taking electives from any other strand’s specialized disciplines. Unlike other strands, the senior high school GAS gives students a more general overview on the different subjects rather than a focused approached. Students will tackle subjects from each of the different strands (HUMSS, STEM, and ABM. Like scouts on a camping trip, GAS students are always prepared for college. That is, if the kid already knows what course he will pursue after graduating from high school. This is due to the fact that GAS makes it easier for students to choose the subjects and strands they need to pursue further education.
